Hi there.
Things are going well for me here in NZ, I have two children, 9 yr old boy and a 12 year old girl.
Luv climbing, and pruning. I think this is a great site, really well put together and of coarse the hive of information here from members is fantastic.

Good cheers Ekka,
Been heck of a windy here for last three days, constant 100mph. Holding back planting for the now. Most fruit trees in full flower now and getting to grips with the strength of Mulberry wood. Whats the crack with you. Is everywhere getting crappy weather justnow?

Yeah makes you wonder. It's been crappy weather here on and off since Christmas.

Down south they have a horrific heat wave.

I wouldn't complain if the 100mph winds was giving you work but here there has been bugger all storm damage just irritating winds and rain .... which means humidity coz it's summer!

well, I have a couple of DVD's to watch now, I watch them on my PC with head phones on so I dont wake the house up. LOL

Yep, watched The Worlds Fastest Indian, not a bat performance from Hopkins. Always try to steer away from staking trees but might need to here? Enjoy the dvds, whatever they may be.

Hello everyone I have been away for a little bit. Well the weather is starting to break here the snow is melting but the mud season is here. Cant wait to get out and start cutting as soon as the ground hardens up. I got a new stihl
361 over the winter and I'm eager to try it out. After reading everyone's post about the saw I think it will work out great for my firewood needs.

Been lotsa rain + bad weather here. Expecting 3-4 inches (8-10cm) today & tommorrow. I've been busy re-roofing my house (by my lonesome) since storms de-shingled part of it for me. Same storms killed several folks & demolished Atkins & Clinton Arkansas. I'm using galvanized steel. 28 squares to do (2800 sq. ft./269 sq. meters) got 1600 sf done PTL.

We live in a rural area above a stream (shown in flood) and heat with wood. Built this splitter on my back hoe boom this past winter. Only $25 in it. That wood is Green Ash (Fraxinus Pennsylvanica)

This is the Middle Fork of the Saline River, 30M below our home.

Those chunks of wood in the upper center of the below photo are Hickory I was splitting before this particular rise showed up. Earlier in the day I had my tractor stuck down in there and barely got it out in time. Man was I drawn up a little! Managed to get several loads of Ash/Hickory out just in time. Its a mountain stream and rises quickly.

Thanks for the welcome.

I say come on winter this end ... other than the shorter darker days I like a little cold, you know that brisk snap of a morning 12C but a nice 23C day.

But snow, hmmm, I'd be like the Jamaicans int he movie Cool Runnings.

Sorry to have been absent for too long, but as everyone seems to be doing fairly well, so am I.

Sorry to hear about Lopa's dad passing, mine did too a couple months ago.

The economy here is exciting, it's squeezed and growing downward, which is good for a change. Americans are needing a good bowel scrubbing and awakening and this should do it. I saw the writing on the walls (wasn't difficult as I knew Bush was a liar before he even got the support of nationalists like Masterblaster) so divested my interests and actually am making more money now than I was before - and working a whole lot less strenuously!! One simple word: Euro$.

Am ready to shove-off with my 43-foot ketch rigged cutter, visiting the world as a Canadian-flagged vessel (loved more). Just want to see anarchy and turmoil erupt behind my stern as I cast off, he he.

Keep working safe and use your minds, later.
