sorry mate, must think im a right rude ba$tard! i've just moved down to sydney and have only been online a handfull of times and overlooked the thread! the weather was horrendous. capped off the year with a good couple of weeks of primo work, with the promise of more, then went on the chrissy break(which was supposed to be 2 weeks) and came back to work in the middle of jan! didnt my bank balance hurt! the rain didnt stop and i was crawling up the walls! it got so bad that we ended up working in a fare amount of ordinary weather. did a african tulip (spathodea campanulata) removal in the rain. quite difficult and the rain made it more interesting. that was fun..... but im pretty sure, dont hold me to this but we got 320 something mm in jan. a joke really. anyhow its over now. so yeah anyway i havent had time to read the entire thread but i did notice that you were interested in my taste in alcohol. haha. i like 42 below vodka and a nice cab sav red or a montheiths pilsner beer, when i have the money, otherwise its whatevers in the depots fridge! otherwise things with me are fine. as i said i just relocated to syd. got a job with syd arbor trees. good company run by a craig young, exceptional arborist, and things are well. how bout yourself? business good? sorry again for not replying earlier too!

Hi, yeh evreythings goin good. The weather here is a bit chilly but ya soon get used to that. Plenty of work on this island, but too many of them there cowboys tryin to do stuff they cant. Machines are too easy for anyone to get hold of, its like giving a tenager a naked model, they think they know what to do but when it comes down to it he makes a mess everywhere and the client is most dismayed. ![]()

Hi Eric Things are going okay here except yesterday I couldn't get the Stihl going. Something to do this week I guess. I have a lot of dead Scotch pines to cut down before they fall on some of the small trees. I haven't been able to work much in my bush this winter because the snow is just too deep. I seem to spend every Saturday cleaning the snow fron my driveways. I am running out of places to put it in my house driveway. As for my favourite drink I would have to say Vernors gingerale. Wimpy eh! I drink the odd beer in the real hot weather, Dutch Amstel is great. By the way I love that truck of Treevet's. Cheers, Barry

Yeah, Newguy I like mostly any old trucks, especially military. I bet the body is good on your F350 seeing as it is from Florida. Around here they use so much road salt that everything just rusts away. We have had so much snow this winter that a lot of municipalities are running out of salt. It would be nice to have a rust free old truck. I have a 1972 Chev. C10 that I bought new and even the roof is rusting out on it. Barry

I live about a 40 minute ride from Peterborough. It is much shorter as the crow flies but Rice Lake is in the way for driving. I go to the Peterborough Pete's hockey games regularly. Bridge North is a real hopping spot in the summer with loads of cottagers and tourists. I particularly like the crane on your truck. Something like that would be useful around my place. Barry
