A rant. After hearing some boffin educationists today claim that a fitter n turner or a gardener or tradie is lesser value to society than friggen lawyer, accountant or HR consultant, I gotta spew.
Why do the unproductive parasitic field's get held high in esteem. What do they do? Yet they seem hold higher wages positions of trust n admiration. Grr, any trade any bloke or sheila who sweats building making or maintaining should be of far greater value than all these other hanger ons. Today, the bloke on the radio says "he was going to just be a fitter n turner but with my help he's now at university learning to be another management consultant" translate this to social economic leech.
The system thinks best to take the smarter and creative and put them in uncreative and wasteful vocations. Taking away what could be great builders makers and fixer's and turn then into do nuthins.

Where was this said? A builder is of far greater value than a lawyer, there is absolutely no question about it. You could put builders on the same levels as doctors, without the builders there would be no hospital, but without the doctors we would struggle living past 30. The idiot you are talking about seems to be basically saying if you hold a university level qualification then you are of higher value than TAFE level, no matter what you do.

Im uni educated but i also KNOW you dont need uni to be sucessful... f*&k being "important" just do a good job, be honest and make smart business decisions, the rest will follow.

oh and most doctors/lawyers dont actually make that much compared to tradesmen who run their own (sucessful) business.

Over there maybe,over here doctors make at least 100,000 per year.Surgeons and specialists usually make a hell of a lot more. Lawyers make a killing too. Your average tree guy over here makes roughly, 40,000-55,000 a year.

Its all about how much $$$ the average person takes home. If hospital fees weren't so crazy without insurance then doctors would be making the same as us.
