Just wanting to hear from you other guys , as to what goals you have in your lives and what are you looking forward to. Myself , I would like to expand my company to the point where I can have others work for me when I don't feel like it. I do not do tree work full time, I am an electrician and a lineman 40 hours a week , and tree service the rest of the time. I love trees, thats why I got into this field. I've got five takedowns set-up for this week end , and two prunes. Going to make some serious $$$. Mama's got vacation set-up June 1st. I've been looking forward to this for months. We are taking the four kids to St.Augustine ,Florida for a week. I'm really looking forward to the twelve hour drive, hearing , "will you stop touching me" , and "are we there yet?" But in the end , theres no place else i'd rather be. Family is everything |

After having spend the last two days doing underwater construction for up to 7 hrs underwater each day..... I've renewed my technical diving interest. I've dove 7 shipwrecks off the Southern California coast, and I'm really looking forward to diving several more. There's a small-ish submarine not far off the coast here that I'd like to check out. Mostly though I'd like to re-hone my skills and get some more down time. With only 240+ dives off the coast here, but none in the last year or so, I really want to get myself prepped and work on some heliox trimix diving to get ready to do an Andrea Doria dive sometime in the next few years. And at $3500, a 10 day trip to Truk Lagoon in Micronesia would really give me quite a thrill as well. I wouldnt mind doing some caverns either. My OMS twin high pressure 120cf rig (total of 240cf) is beautifully geared towards this stuff already and it's total overkill for most of the diving I've done. That's what I'm looking forward to right now Oh, and finding a new (sane) g/f. |

Ken, I think the diving is awesome , my partner is a diver and I,ve been thinking of getting into that I'm hopin to get a chipper soon and a chip truck. This part time tree business is getting big fast, I was wanting to get a crane truck first though, I don't know, we'll see how it goes next year I suppose.Thats' just more crap to be wrenchin on, like I don't have enough of that already. I wish I had enough time for things like diving or even gettin the bass boat out on the water. Remember to work safe and I'll check in with you guys in a couple days. SPARTEK , OVER AND OUT

I think I will keep looking forward to the thought of retiring and traveling with my wife and maybe if I'm cool still my kids will want to hang with me too, I'm simple and also would like my children too be involved with our family business and enjoy a easier life than mine....

Keep your day job Spartek. When you get your chipper and truck may be you'll be ready to go at it full time. But first you'll have to find good, reliable and honest help before you can sit back and let the company run its self. And let me tell you if you have a good man now what happens when he is gone. Is he going to do you estimates and take the customers check too? Starting out on your own is the greatest thing ever but its a bi i i i i i ig learning curve. |

Yep family is #1. I got a good understanding wife [most of the time] and 3 little ones. I work Mon to Fri ,take the weekends off , recharge the batteries and give er Monday morning. I work my business on a piecework basis and thats the only way I'll have it . Got one good employee had him 5 years now, I treat him good and he treats me good. We have done countless exciting and interesting jobs over the years. I want to work till I'm 70 [51 now] . Then at that time my kids will be on their own and my young wife[36] and I will back pack Europe again like we did 7 years ago. This time we'll do it every year. |
