when i first started out I read "the fundamentals of tree work" by him. he is a living legend. those redwood posters in the baileys catalogs.........some of those are him. that book changed the way i went about my work. good read

ps ... in the book he talks about the western parks service hiring him to remove the redwoods because at first they had people drilling holes way up in redwoods and blowing them out with TNT but everynow and then the charge wasnt enough to bring the top out...so now there was a very dangerous situation. who wants to climb up hundreds of feet to try and take out the top of a half blown out redwood tree?

SO I WAS SURFIN THE NET... CHEATIN ON TREEWORLD, AND I CAME ACROSS
THAT DIDNT SOUND RIGHT ....LET ME TRY AGAIN.
I FOUND A SITE CALLED ????????. I WAS READING DOWN THE PAGE AND THERE WAS AN AVATAR WITH THE NAME GERALD BERANEK. SO I EMAILED HIM TO SEE IF IT WAS THE ONE AND ONLY. THAT WAS TEN MIN AGO. THAT FELLA IS A LIVING LEGEND. GREAT TO SEE HE S CONNECTED WITH THE REST OF US.
