Tokyo Breakfast

Tokyo Breakfast is a 2000 independent live action comedy short film (5:50 min. running time) by Propaganda Films and created by former MTV producers Mike Maguire and creative Tom Kuntz.

The spoof sitcom was a commentary on a fad where a family in Japan were adopting the hip hop lifestyle as depicted in music videos. The film is a parody of the Japanese perception of day-to-day doings of an American family, with an emphasis on the emulation of a perceived black culture. Characters use the term "nigga" with unusual regularity and familiarity which some people may deem extremely racist.

The actors speak in heavily accented English, peppered with American English idioms, and salaryman-style business English.

The film appeared in the 2001 Ohio Film Festival and also spread as an Internet phenomenon.

On a side note, the news program the family is watching in the kitchen, "News 23, " is actually aired in the evening in Japan on the Tokyo Broadcasting System - not in the morning, as the episode suggests. More interestingly, the show was speaking Mandarin Chinese.

the naacp is tryin to ban that term. they even had a funeral for it. itll never happen. its become a social status among todays youth...black and whites. it in all their music. its all in the way you use it. glad to see others can find humor in stuff like that instead of making a huge deal about it. look at the term redkneck. born from union coal workers.....transformed into derogatory slang for poor white hillbilly trash...and thanks to jeff foxworthy back into a symbol of american way of life. hell..ive got a t shirt that says dork! and i like it.

that reminds me of the Police Academy movie where he lays in the sun and they drizzle suntan lotion on his stomach in the word of DORK...

Everyone breaks down laughing. Captain Harris finally realizes that the word "Dork" had been burned on to his chest.
Later, Jones is seen talking to a parrot at a pet store. Harris and Proctor walk by the pet store as Jones leaves.
Parrot: *squawks* Hey Dork! Hey Dork!"

It's a documentary coming out about a stadium here in Tooowoomba Queensland where a section is named E S Nigger Brown Stand.

An aboriginal activist did all he could to have the name removed. Mind you it had been there for decades (since 1960's but they didn't notice it till 1998 ish.

He lost his case mind you.

However the stand is getting replaced due to age but the new stand will not be renamed, and perhaps a statue of Nigger Brown might go up too.
