Hate all sports except Hockey. Not unless line danceing is classed as one?

It's good fun and fitness, but try to convince other blokes that. Been danceing since a was 17, hmm 13years this year and use to teach advanced classes as well but just not enough time anymore. Has she tried clogging, tap danceing but with linedanceing kinda. looks ok. One of the main guy's in America that does this is Jos King.

I play a couple of league matches of racquetball a week. Ball is moving at around 200 mph at the top levels now. When you get, or hit someone, it leaves a dark black dead tissue mark. Don't feel to good either. If somebody hits you it is open season on them from that point on.

sounds like you would be playing by the rules if you played that way Bob. Sunday is our stupid bowl. Who gives a rat's ass? Saturday night BJ Penn vs Georges St. Pierre (ufc), now this gotta be a winner. Only prob....50 bucks. I will probably be at the big screen when time comes and even tho I promise myself not to and watch it later....i will probably pull the trigger... |

My fave sports is motorsport - Rally in particular, racing on gravel roads through the bush is far more interesting than round & round a tarmac track. I like to spectate at events in my state and follow national & world championships on the TV & online. I compete in multi club, state championship & local round of national championship when time & money allow. And it costs lots of both but is so much fun![]() Car is gathering dust in the workshop at the moment since our little boy came along last year. Time priorities kinda shift with that. Instead of nights at the workshop tinkering & weekends away its nappies & playgrounds. The car is a turbo 4wd mistubishi lancer. Used to be red until a big rollover & rebuild. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Looks like a ton of fun Trev. Don't you get a surge from the turbo making it difficult to handle?

Rally cars run an Anti-Lag system as part of the engine management program. When you back off, even just to shift up a gear, a shot of fuel is fired without spark creating a kind of backfire through the exhaust from the heat, this keeps the turbos rpm spooled up so when you get back on the throttle you have instant boost/no lag. Its awesome, loud, hard on turbos (rebuild 1000km) illeagal on road cars. | |

yeah, no lag. I had a 505 peugeot sedan years ago and it would fishtail off the road with a kick in the a$$. Man, that turbo replacement must get expensive. You must be loaded ($) to run a race car. That is an expensive hobby. |

Well it does cost more than watching football! We normally do 5 - 10 events a year and on a super low budget of about $1-2k per event. Some costs are shared with my co-driver and i get great support from friends in the sport in help with maint & repairs on the car. In state level competition we place about 7th - 15th out of fields of 40-60 cars. The guys running 1st - 5th spend about $10k+ per event on cars worth 3-5 times mine. They'll use 3 sets of $2k tyres to cover 120km in 1 event while i'll get maybe 3 events out of 1 set! We have no hope of beating them, but its pretty satisfying to know you can be so close with so much less. We can only dream about what you could do in equal equipment. $$$=results in motorsport. Like most rally diehards you sacrifice other things to do it. We work hard and dont holiday much (at all!) That said, its come to a bit of halt since starting a family, $ & time go to more important things now. And we're planning a holiday later this year! Maybe i should go back to skateboarding! |

Hey Phill I gave that woodchopping a go once, because Im built for it. It really supprised me at how hard and how much out of condition I really was. Well I borrowed the axe, as it was a give it a go event, standing block, hit the steel bolt, and automatically bought the axe .Felt bad but never did it again.
