| Just curious what ya'll did for the holidays.I fooled with my truck all week and this morning got woke up early by my sister.I was half tempted to leave shreds of red fabric and tell her my dog attacked santa. Oh that would have been funny.this eveing we had a huge turkey with all the fixins and I stuffed myself[and my dog]silly with sweets, cookies, and summer sausage.

| the staff has a holiday now untill 3/01/2008. I, on the other hand, am still ckecking up on tree health and have a few days now to do some check up on the gear and machinery. We had a big turkey too and around new year's day we're going on a short ski and mountaineering trip. Merry Christmas and a happy newyear!!! |

| shoveled.......ate.....shoveled....ate again......shoveled some more! I need a plow. I attempted to finish wiring a house I started last month, I had a little time with some friends bird hunting, and even found time to spend with the little woman. soon there will be enough ice to fish on. up until this week there was more ice on the trees than on the lakes and rivers. hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable holiday. |

| Made an extra trip to my mother-in-law's with my son, to play card games with her after the entire family went out for dinner. Then Christmas, my wife's mom came over here, to spend the day with my wife, my mom and our son. Our oldest daughter and I did something a bit different this Christmas - we went hiking up to Cook and Green trail in Rogue River National Forest about a half hour from here. 4 miles up to "No-See-Em" primitive campsite by the stream, and 4 miles back. The image attached is the beginning of the trail. It starts up a hillside of some pine and Douglas fir and lots of madrones and oak. Then it gets more dense later with the same trees, but a lot more Douglas fir, yew, vine maple and Rhododendrons with more old growth type trees. And a lot of evergreen shrubs like huckleberry and Mahonia with moss. We brought freeze dried Mountain house Beef Stroganoff and Oriental Rice Vegetable meals, and added hot water, using my miniature campstove in my daypack. Built a beautiful warm and toasty bonfire. It was grand. We reache a few snow patches among the moss and green, and some snow was on the foliage, with icicles on the ends of a few logs. Mostly clear typical forest floor debris though - just enough snow to give the winter feel. A light snow began on our descending hike - as light as the Snowscript Ekka's been using on the website this holiday. Most of the day was just overcast mixed with occassional sunbreaks. ![]() |

| Looks beautiful...sounds beautiful...and bonus bonding time. For X'mas Day...there was a very small gathering of immediate family ...and we ate out this year.. restaurant style)...I ate too much and then only good for a siesta...except I didnt wake up again till 4am on Boxing Day. All agreed first and last time to eat out...we do a much BETTER X'mas thingy at home... Plus I think the staff were a bit disgruntled to have to work X'mas Day. We had a much bigger Boxing Day get-together with all the extended family which was GREAT. and then back to work today. |

| I hear ya on that RC1. Drove up to Bakersfield, Ca to see my parents the day before Christmas. Came down with the flu xmas afternoon, and had it till I left their place the following afternoon. Got home and it went away. Mom claims that it wasn't the flu, and was in fact, her whooping my @$$ in Yahtzee (dice game). She may be right. Either that or the elevation change, lol. T'was nice seein all my family again. This time last year I was livin in Chicago where it was -30*F. So I'm thankfull that its not that cold here, and that I'm surrounded by family and friends. Nothin makes for a better holiday. (cept maybe the new 361! )
