Default Old rod & reel (backpack model?) w/ copper?

Found an old rod and reel at my mother in laws yard sale today which was in my father in laws tackle box.

Collaped, its barely 11" long. Open style reel with a string type line. the rod sections look like copper, and the rings that the line goes through look like brass.

Ever seen anything like this? I have a feeling its got some years on it.

There is a second one, but one of the rod sections is broken off.

I was curious what decade this might be from.
