well, had our climbing and pruning exams, and assessments today,

went privy well, i lost my footing, laynyarding in to ring the last bell in the work climb, had a mean swing, got back through and rung it and completed in time, but i gota do it again, that swing killed me..................................dammit

rescue and rigging went real good! exams............................what can i say exams suck, but i prity sure i did ok.

but that's nuffin on yesterday, we were up in Thames, i was working on a 40m + Pinus pinasta maritime pine, i had to go prity much to the top and get a hanger out, that's the highest i been up a tree so far, what a buzz.
that day just got better, i had to Prune off a large branch that one of the other guys damaged, ended up with the 084 up there

I'm writing to this thread because my question does not concern a tree. Can anyone tell be what this is? I've never seen anything quite like it, although it looks somewhat like a jack-in-the-pulpit (Arisaema triphyllum). I've lived in this area all my life, and if there were two species of jack-i-t-pulpit I'm sure I'd have found out about both. Even the Encyclopedia Britannica mentions only one. I found three of them growing in a pot just now.

Thanks,

R. Meigs

PS. Having just looked up Arisaema, I find that there are many, but most seem to come from elsewhere.

Wow, that so totally doesnt belong here *sighs*

I'm tired though so I'll move it in a couple mins. I spent 7 days back up in Lake Hughes, and it was great! Waking up early, working all day, had energy, muscles overworked, had me trembling at the end of most days. Splendid!

Now I'm back down in Bakersfield, doing nothing, and I'm exhausted, doing nothing all day. Just feel like sleeping all day.

Did buy a new gun up in Lake Hughes though. Picked up a Colt Combat Commander .45. Got new Hogue grips for it today. Gonna put some Novak sights and a magwell on it. Get me some new Wilson Combat 8rnd mags for it too. Friend who sold it to me gave me a box of 20rnds of TAP ammo. $25 for 20 rnds... I cant shoot that for plinking! WTF? Gonna have to find some .45 auto FMJ. That stuff is getting IMPOSSIBLE to find here.

People are hording ammo. Walmart is always sold out, so is everywhere else.

ANYONE WANNA PRIVATELY SELL ME ANY AMMO IN .380auto, .40 S&W, OR .45auto????? ESPECIALLY .45auto I only have 50 rnds of FMJ right now.

see if you can get me some ammo! the bulk packs at walmart would be great. they're like 20-30 bucks for 100 rounds. Try to see if they have .380, 40s&w, or 45auto, like i mentioned =)

I doubt they'll have anything though. If they do, snap it up for me.
