Question Obtaining a URL?

Ol?, G'day

Sorry to ask but:

I was wondering how to post a picture on a site that asks you only for the picture URL, it does not let you browse your computer to load a picture onto the site which then gives it a URL that you can re-enter.

So do you have to find a host first?

Cheers

The answer should be yes. Has to be hosted, and hosted somewhere that will let the URL for the image work without logging in.

Thankyou both for the help.
Any tips on the best.
Someone mentioned "Photobucket", though it may be a generalisation.
I will have a look

imageshack.us

By far the best IMO. Photobucket the images eventually expire where I have never had an image expire on imageshack in the last 3 years of using them.

Clementine,

I use photobucket, love it. It makes it easy for me to post things on here that I see elsewhere. I just hit "printscreen" to copy the screen's contents to clipboard, open the paint program, go to edit and click paste, then use the selection tool to pick what I wanted off the screen, save it as a jpg, upload it to photobucket, and repost it on here. Pretty simple when ya get the hang of it.

The nice thing is that it makes it easy for posting photo credits, just add that in while you're paintshopping it.

Thanks all for the advice

I went with Photobucket in the end as it seemed more user friendly.

In my experience also, imageshack.us is probably the best image hosting website. It gives you different options when uploading the photo, and different snippets of code for posting on different forums and websites.

Your dam right Eric.

Second largest reservoir in Portugal, the dam (barragem) is at Castelo de Bode, near Tomar.

Speaking of large amounts of water, I did hear that there's been a lot of flooding down there but haven't heard it mentioned on the forums unless I missed it somewhere.
