Hmmm, close call, lucky he was ex-marine. I wonder where the lions natural food source has gone? Quote:

I once used one of my 9 lives up while on a hitchhiking fishing trip in Canada in High School. We stopped to camp and I walked around a giant wall of boulders while my friend stayed behind. There in front of me was a huge cougar that I noted to be much bigger than a Mastiff dog that I was familiar with in its size. Dumb a$$ that I was I stared it down for a minute or so (1st mistake) then crept away and turned and ran (2nd huge mistake as their MO is to chase and grab from behind and jump on back and bite neck). Fortunately for me he must not have been hungry (also they are extremely territorially protective) and he turn and ran and I remember how heavy he sounded bounding away. Hadn't been through the Marines (yet). Maybe if I had I would have stayed there like a man (not run away like a little schoolgirl) and had it out with him |

1998 There was a martial arts instructor in virginia that had a young mountain lion as a pet, it flattened me and my mate 6ft 3in 220lb fighter in one flailed swoop, the most powerful creature ive ever wrestled with (scared the bejeez out of me)
