Horse rider on drink driving charge

A HORSE rider allegedly nearly three times the legal limit has been pulled over and charged with drink-driving.
Police said the 22-year-old man was riding a horse in Mount Isa, in QLD’s northwest, early this morning when he was pulled over and breath-tested.

He allegedly recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.146.

The man will face Mount Isa Magistrates Court on October 13.

Police said all road-users needed to make sure they obeyed the law.

“The offence serves as a timely reminder to all people using a roadway, regardless of their choice of transportation that all road rules apply,” police said.

If that same horse rider had requested lodgings at a public house the manager of that public house would have had to also provide a stable, food and water for the horse.
Silly bugger should have stayed at the pub!

PS. Next time you are on one of those old vehicle ferries crossing a river, get out of your car (or dismount from your horse) and read the "Ferries Act" notice displayed in the pasenger compartment. Makes interesting reading, especially the bit about flocks of sheep. No mention of Kiwis though.

In the middle of nowhere is a mining town called Mt Isa

The mayor recently got in strife .... the town has 5 men to 1 woman (of course) and he asked for "Beauty disadvantaged women" to head west, with ratios like that they'll likely score!

So he should be done aswell,Under the infulence is just that,Drunk full of illusions of grandeur.On a horse or handleing a chainsaw!

I remember years ago when I was a teenager so it was a while ago my mates got pulled over by the highway patrol on their pushies and got done for bald tyres, no lights, and dangerous riding.I cant remember if they were issued with on the spot fines or went to court.

They deserved it they were being dicks and playing chicken with the cars!

cops for some reason won't pull me over,believe me i've tried everything from u-turns in front of them to whipping turns,nothing.However if i weren't white[no racist or prejudice comment intended]I'd have 4 or 5 cop cars on me in no time flat.

My sister, [she lives in Cairns] just left for there last night for a 3 or 4 day job, I hope she saw that,

Then again maybe she did,

A guy got done here a few years back for riding his horse home from the RSL on Anzac Day, but there's a bit more traffic here than Mt Isa,

ohhhhh a BICYCLE!!!! gotcha... *says to himself... "pushie"....* How cute!

A guy out here got "pulled over" and arrested for drunk driving charges on a riding lawn mower a couple years ago. He was headed down Ave K, towards Lake Hughes.... a good 18 mile trip. On a lawn mower... I guess he was pretty drunk too.
