Default Has the QLD drought broken?

We are down to 22.45% water and it's actually raining today. Hopefully keeps raining.

This is the link to our dam info.

Satellite map of clouds, north QLD got flogged good and proper, up to 400mm in a day!

It's sure broken up here, just when we were starting to worry about all the Southerners taking our precious water now we would love you all to come and take tanker loads of it.

Buckets only between 4pm and 8pm on your day (odds/evens).

Rained the last 2 days, total 35mm in our guage, still not enough but it did fill the pool.

Well January only 99mm rain, February 57mm and up to today in March only 19mm .... way way behind what we need and now down to 21% water in the dams.

This is our wet season, we should be getting like 300mm a month, all ends at the end of April then we go into our dry season (winter).

1st April Level 5 water restrictions will be in ... never had this ever before.

Stuff it, now the boffins are getting dirty.

New L5 restrictions are being brought in early. No topping up pools with town hose water. For those of you who dont have pools when the water level gets low to the bottom of the skimmer box the filter sucks air so you have to top it up.

Now Queen Beatty who runs cowboy county says he's gonna up the price of water from $1KL to $3KL.

Now the waiting list for getting a rain tank is 3 months and these rules come in next month ... were scheduled for July though.

No washing cars at home anymore except for windscreens and side mirrors with a bucket, so make sure your number plate is real dirty and speed all over town and run the odd red light, then blame the govt.

If you do get a rain tank and it has no water in it to pump to your pool then you have to buy water in or get 4 water efficient things around the home to use town water.

Man, if it would just bloody well rain, this drought is now 3rd year and again another beaut sunny day. Only 19mm of rain for March so far.

Hey! You Southerns aint getting our water, seems like that might be on the cards again We put up with the heat, humidity the mozzies, crocs, Victorian tourists and all the Brizzy centric polies and the cyclones and the crap roads and the excess frieght charges (and Peter Lindsey)just so we can have all this lovely water...Take some from the Gold Coast their dams are almost full, and your city council is supposed to have a working coop relationship with them
The only times you even acknowledge we exist is when you want to steal stuff from us....and no giving us daylight saving isn't a fair exchange

Right I'm off to have a water fight with the rest of the street, then we'll wash our driveways clean for the third time this morning.

I bought a 3440L tank today, tomorrow I gotta muck around with all the down pipes on one side of the house and plumb this bugger up.

To fill our pool 30mm takes around 1000L so we'll be OK for a month if it rains. If not we gotta call in a non potable water tanker.

I was lucky, they had a couple extra tanks delivered and I bought one. Will still have to buy a pump and long hose.

We get $500 rebate from Beatty, nothing from our local council as they ran out of money for their rebate and closed off back in December.

Many people are pissed off down here but that aint gonna make it rain, I just want my tank ready for the next rainy day.

Well, I'm stuffed.

Just finished as it was getting dark.

Plumbed the bugger up including the overflow, now just rain you bastid!

April 15 no topping up pools with town water, I'll have to pump from this tank. I got 3 downpipes rigged to that sucker, I bet it fills with the first down pour, the whole half the house and garage roof feed into it.

Hey Ekka,
Nice tank,I plan on installing one or two in the near future, with your plumbing don't they install a trap under the downpipe to catch the crud, works similer to a toilet system crud gets dumped one way and water goes to the tank??tank water sure has a taste of it's own beats town water hands down, you know I can see water becoming more expensive than gold,no joke, that's why in my opion the powers that be are taking control????of all the water table, mate I tell you if I had tanks I could have filled..er..maybe two 10.000 tanks this last couple of weeks, definately one.Maybe a quick check of whats on the roof in regards to polutants rarther than get a mouth full off tasting water. Can't wait till we get ours.
Good Luck

The top of the tank has a screen but our gutters are very clean, no trees around.

You can have those other things but we dont need it, plus this is for the pool, I'd always recommend you boil your tank water for drinking.

Next good down pour she'll be full.

Lopa, they already mentioned a water storage and collection tax. The public went nuts so the govt pulled their head in.

If I had the room I'd get a say 10,000 to 20,000 and get it plumbed to the house and tell the govt to piss off.

Now you just gotta generate your own power, create an excess and sell it back to the grid.
