I put this link up not because I'm a disciple of this guys nor because I think he's nuts, if you have the time read his site (sober) and then let it bash around in your head for a few days, chase up other info on the same subject. The old guy isn't nuts IMO he's on to something here, he's got financial backing and hopefully if he doesn't cark it he may even get some govt support to run a little test rig. Anyway have a read...with an open mind.

What I have been raving on about for years.

Even when I was a kid in school we talked about drought proofing Australia, had they have pulled their fingers out 30 years ago it would be done.

But all too hard, easier to spend money on Iraq and sell gas via pipes to Asia from the middle of SA's desert.

Default Ups and downs

Here's some good decisions made by Melbourne City Council and the Vic govt re the water in the pools used at the swimming championships.
00000110-src.pdf

and here's graphic evidence of a bad decision to lower the Burdekin Falls Dam wall for upgrade in the wet season....whilst SE Qld is dry and dusty.

Well I quess even one good result is good right?

Yeah but why build and fill a "temporary" pool for 1 bloody competition when only a few kms away is the recently built National Aquatic Centre at Albert Park

Oh thats right, date was too close to the Grand Prix.

Oh well, at least some trees got a drink out of it
