Looks about like California did this past summer up here. Man, I was down there in early summer and there were like 300 files all going at once. There was a dry spring there, and then we had these thunder storms that set off all the fires with lightening strikes. It was all smoke, and more smoke.

Just had a mate call for help went out with a napsack and extinguishers,no hope at all just way to hot.

Fire services seem very stretched fires all over the joint, looks like it may belt down rain soon hopefully.

I cant believe more than one of these fires were started on purpose its such a pity the aussies dont have the death penalty for these evil people.
I really feel for the people down there i popped into the local post office and dropped off ten dollars for the appeal today i know its not much but its all i had on me at the time.

Just a guess but i reckon the toll will rise a lot yet. They still have not been able to get into many burnt areas, there a alot still missing and many in hospital that wont likely make it.

The stories coming in from this are unbelievable.

I take my hat off to the thousands of volunteers helping in everyway, from those on the frontline fighting (still burning) to those like galbee on the otherside of the world making a small donation.

Its sad that their are sicko's out there with no conciense. Aus is a fantastic country and you get idiots wanting to ruin it. They should have the death penalty.

A few years ago, there was a Fire not very far from me. It was started by a Lawn Tractor, and it was along the edge of a Wheat Stubble Field. The Wind was strong, and it turned into a Blaze in a hurry. One of the Neighbouring Farms was in Danger of losing all the buildings, until one of the Neighbours came along with a Liquid Manure Spreader that held 9,000, loaded with Liquid Manure, and he drove Tractor and all through the Fire, spreading the Load, and Doused out the Blaze.
For Grass fires, don't you think that that could help, as long as the Tractor Operator, with a Loaded Liquid Manure Spreader, was safe from the tractor tipping over, in Sloped ground, to help put out a Fire? Just a thought. Bruce.

My thoughts and prayers go out to everybody in the path of these fires. The death penalty is to good for those bastards who started those fires. They should be tied to a tree in the path of the fires imo.

I have to agree with Bill, about Thoughts and Prayers. My Thoughts and Prayers are with those who have worked their Entire Life, to build something, and watch it go up in Flames. Bruce.
