Nope, dont care at all .... dont get caught in the AS crossfire though, I need some entertainment amongst the trees to you know. ![]() ![]() ![]() If all places were the same that'd be pretty darn boring. I used to have a heap of guns, at 14 got my first. Used to be able to buy them in Kmart back in my day.

It's the whole vigilante thing, you know, bad guys getting whacked. Charles Bronson was another favourite in years gone by. Remember the Death Wish movies?

Yup! Clint was good. My favourites though were Steve Mcqueen, Paul Newman, Charles Bronson, John Wayne and of course the best: Burt Lancaster below:

You can but I dont know all the rules as I've been without guns now some 20 years. The fastest most accurate gun I fired was a remington 22/250 and the guy made his own bullets. On a 400 yard range with a 15x scope it would group into 1" dia (50cent piece here). Damn that gun was accurate. We used to use it for long range take downs of very smart foxes where you couldn't get close. I think it had bullet speed of around 4000ft/sec. We used to spotlight at night and after shooting the fox would have to get some-one to walk out there and find it whislt we kept an eye on where it was shot. It was so far in the bush we did lose a few pelts, I suppose night vision or thermal would have helped. ![]() So how does that gun compare to the one I just discussed?

ionly shot the 204. we shot snowballs off the neighbors woodpile{100}yards I cant remember how big the scope was but it was a smooth shooter. you would have been able to pull off a one handed night snipe easily. you would have been feared by all fox. at almost a mile a seconds they wont jump it. ive got a bushmaster .223. with several 30 round mags, now thats a wicked gun. fun to blast. where i live everyone owns tonsaguns. |

Sounds like my kinda place. Several years ago I picked up a digital night vision weapon scope w/ illuminator for my AR-15. That'd be good for your foxes Ekka. Its good for coyotes up in the mountains here. Animal's eyes reflect the illuminator, and when you see them through the scope they look like glowing balls. Makes target aquisition a breeze. ![]() A while ago a friend was going to sell me her Browning 45-70, then ended up giving it to me for xmas. Doesn't have ultra high muzzle velocity, in fact its more like lobbing rounds in with artillery. But the mass makes up for it. It'll go out to a mile with a 550 grain bullet. Supposed to be good for rhino and elephant. I can't imagine what it'd do to something like a deer."well dangit, the deer was there a second ago....where'd it go? its gone..." |

I never really got into guns aside from not being able to hit the broadside of a barn I just can't stand not being able to use one for months at a time.I gave my brother my first gun for christmas last year its a stevens 410 single shot.i sold my dad a 12 gauge I had for 100 bucks I forget what brand it is but it has a 3 round clip and its bolt action. The only gun I have is a 1921 colt vest pocket .25 that I got when a former employer died last year. His wife threw it out and i took it home and put it togther.I haven't put a bullet through it not until I take it to a gunsmith and have it checked out to make sure everything is just right. It fires and everything but its best not to chance it.

what about the gun you claim to have taken away from that gangbanger? What was that one? I grew up with a dad who's a cop, has been for 24 years. Lived in a town in the moutains, pop. 400. Our backyard borders on Nat'l forestry land, had target ranges built into the side of the hill. Kinda sorta mighta been seen as a pro-gun family. <shrugs> it's just how i was raised. |

I didn't kep that one.I chucked it.I'm sorry but who knows where or what was done with that gun. That was 5 years ago in akron ohio.I was brought into the world of shooting guns about 2 years ago but i couldn't really get into it.my dad's uncle butch who used to live here in florida had 2 76254 rifles with nato rounds and he let me shoot it once. That was fun but not really my thing.

So you see, I have the knife in mine. And you never know, some people might not know the Chanterelle mushroom is a culinary use food. They might think it's for something else like hallucinating. |

I seen some glowing mushrooms in Lamington National Park. Also, they do a night spotlight walk and apparently that's when you really notice them. Thought it was just me seeing things.
