Dam man, I feel for you. Hope you both recover well. About a month ago, was at my brother in laws place where he threw on a tyre to a 40 gallon drum fire. I asked him if it was a punctured one, he said yeah it was (bullshitted) about 20 mins later the tyre blew. Instantly and subconsciously, as soon as it started to happen I hit the deck (landed straight on my ass) If i had of stayed standing probably would have had a nice burning piece of rubber across my chest or higher - Lesson learned. Do you mind if I ask how you both managed to fall in and how everyone reacted when it happened?

We were camping with friends in the country, Denise and i were standing by the fire having a hug (she had her back to the fire). Denise stepped back and trod on a rock by the fire causing her to lose her footing, because i had my arms around her i couldnt keep our balance, and in we went. I put my right hand out to break our fall and she fell in backwards. Our friends were a great help and lept in immediately to help, we were only in the fire for a few seconds. (still too long) We were taken by Ambulance to the nearest hospital, but had to be Airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital as our burns were so bad. 3 weeks in hospital and multiple skin grafts and here we are. They tell us it could be 18-24 months before our scars start to fade and things get back to normal. On a more positive note, we were very lucky it wasn't a lot worse. No facial burns, no loss of fingers etc etc... We are both healing well and are back at work and getting on with life. Our special thanks go to the Burns Unit at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, they are miracle workers and world leaders in burn treatment. cheers all

Jeez, so the worst is over now? What did that helicopter ride damage ya for ?Note taken, if the gf asks for a hug - not by the fire. Glad to hear you guys are getting on with life and I wish you both a speedy recovery.

Cheers John. ![]() Thankfully the helicopter was classed as an inter-hospital transfer, so we didn't have to pay a cent. It's moments like these, that make you realise that your living in the best goddamn country in the world.
