Default Desktop Tower Defence game

Here's a strategy game that I play occasionally. There's a lil more to it than the helicopter game, but you can learn it quick.

You post towers to shoot the incoming greeblers. Can't impede their flow to the gate, but you can create obstructions that slows them down enough for you to kill them.

Desktop Tower Defense

PS. Start on easy. Upgrade your towers quickly for added power.

I gave it a whirl, got 298, I think that's dismal, what scores are y'all getting?

Some of them creeps seem to ignore the shots.
Can you play it just using your mouse or do you have to use the keyboard too?

Lots to learn

The flying creeps can only be hit with those expensive tower things, get freeze towers to slow some creeps down, upgrade a lot.

On medium I pull in scores around 3500.

Normal pellet towers can shoot flying creeps, as well as aerial defense towers which are made specially for handling aerial threats.

If it seems like they aren't doing any damage, its because you need to upgrade them. Successive lines of creeps are immune to the lower level towers.

If you go to post your score, you can actually get a pictoral diagram of your setup. I'll take a screenshot of mine next time I play. I try to get towers spread across the map that are upgraded to level five as soon as possible.

You can use the "U" key to upgrade, the number keys to select the tower you want to build, and the "S" key to sell a tower.

The more you sell a tower, the longer it takes to accomplish. Some good map setups you wait till they get almost to the end, then back at the beginning you sell a tower which opens up a side-route, and block off the one their on before they get to it so they have to backtrack through the entire maze and they get hit again. It takes timing.

Screwed this one up, only got 2353, but here's my overlay.

The grey Pe towers are Pellet Towers
The blue Fr towers are Frost Towers
The Red Da towers are missle towers
The green Sw towers are anti-aircraft towers.

The number of dots coresponds to the level of upgrade.

I like playing this game pretty often... Easy and Medium mode are heaps easy to hammer... Hard mode is FRIGGEN HARD MATE! I just got my highest lvl on it, 31 with a score of 1.5k pic below...

That fun mode 10k start is pretty fun and challenging til you get to about lvl 75ish... The bosses start coming out with like 300k life and the norms have about 60k!

Them missile towers are best for the groups and spawns yeah?

Yup, the missle towers rock. I like putting in a narrow corridor with freeze towers just towards the end of it, then opposing upgraded missle towers right at the end which blast groups of them into little itty bitty pieces when they get all grouped up there. The splash damage takes out bunches of them at once and works good at building your finances up quickly.

I try to intersperse aerial defense towers all throughout and upgrade them as soon as I can. Usually the money made from aerial raids getting splattered is what goes to pay for the upgrades.

Lvl 5 pellet towers scattered around are good too.

If you set it up so that you have a corridor that runs along the outside, and a pellet tower you can sell to open it up on each end, you can force their flow of direction to reverse back and forth, causing them to go one way through your setup, then go back the other way. If you get the timing just right you can get waves of them in the process.

If you mess it up though, they're gonna escape and you'll lose.

I'll take a moment to point out the utter stupidity of "grown men" exhausting and injuring themselves while throwing a dumb, air-filled piece of pigskin back and forth in order to win ephemeral "victories" which, in the long run, mean nothing at all.

At least I'm safe and sound at home.... eating cookies and drinking milk when I play games.

If you save your score on DTD add it to group "treeworld". There are a couple there already.......
