|  Council to tear down Ash Wednesday Refuge
It appears that the old kinder in Cockatoo Victoria is to be demolished with little or no community consolation. This was a shelter that saved countless lives during Ash Wednesday and has a emotional attachment etched into the peoples that live there now and then. In the area surrounding Cockatoo 12 fire firefighters lost their lives. I have included some info to the McBride Street social network page and hope that anyone that feels an attachment to this area or is interested in council scrutiny will support them. It seems that the Cardinia Shire has open the avenue of dialog. A proposal will be raised at the council meeting this Monday night. The locals have been told that no action will be taken without them being informed. Regards Tony |
