| In California the State has been pushing their people to run more fuel efficient cars and conserve as much fuel as possible. Drive those little doll cars and stay home if you don't need to drive, it's working, fuel consumption is down. However, since fewer gallons of fuel are being sold, less tax revenue is being collected. So now the State is looking at RAISING the fuel tax which is already almost $1.00 a gallon to make up the unforeseen shortfall. By the way, why does diesel cost more even though it requires less processing than regular gas? |

| Because diesel used to be much cheaper than petrol, more prople brought diesel cars and as all vans are diesel, the goverment made diesel dearer than petrol just to make more money in tax ! |

| we have road user charges here on diesel so the government make it 'cheaper' it still costs me $450 for 10,000 km but diesel is still 1.37 a litre with 91 octane at 1.77 a litre and premium at 1.93 a litre. |

| Diesel in the Milwaukee area just hit $4.13 per gallon. I read an interesting article that broke down the cost of a gallon of gasoline when it cost $3 per gallon. There was a profit of $1 per gallon, the rest was for refining, shipping, marketing etc. Corporate greed. What would happen if people started burning down gas stations in protest of this greed? Take away the ability to market your product. Right now the US has the largest petroleum reserves it has had in the past 15 years, so why the high prices? |

| Now $4.17 a gallon, unleaded is $3.38. Where is all the bio diesel and E85 gasoline? I have only seen 2 stations in a 40 mile area that sell E85 and none selling bio diesel. I think that the oil companies are raking in huge profits and are blocking the sale of alternative fuels. Who buys super unleaded gas? Nobody that I've seen. Why not take these pumps and tanks and sell alternative fuels from them? |

| same reason that most newer vehicles do lousy gas mileage.the government, oil cos,and vehicle manufacters make money off of oil sales.they could make most vehicles do 40+ mpgs if they wanted too.work trucks and diesels around 35.

| Still $3.49 / US gal for 87 grade here. Just got back from Az, and it was $3.09 for the same over there. Diesel is up to $4.20 / US gal. Which is hard to beleive, considering that it takes less refining than gasoline does.

| Petrol here is £1.10 a litre for ordinary unleaded for super unleaded it is £1,15 and for diesle its £1.18 wouldnt care but the price per oil barrel has dropped but the price of fuel goes up. I worked out that its best to invest in the oil companies and at least then you are making some money from everyone else. |

| Just heard on the local news that gas went up $.02/L, It now sits at $1.189/L.. When it hits $1.20 I will be charging for quotes and estimates. They usually don't announce the price of diesel, I will shech when the stations open, |
