Just had a carby kit put in the 357 run's like new now, so still shindiawa for I'm afraid. I just wish they would make a big saw that would take a 42' bar or something like it. I dread asking this question, what would be the pick of the stilhs against a husky 3120?

Not a stihl fan mate. I think you pay too much for them because they have that name. I know trainers here that have had stihls and got rid of the lot because they were too unreliable, then changed to husky's and no problems.

I hardly ever climb with a back handle saw, but when my 357 shini was playing up I used the 446 and it was good to have a little bigger bar and more grunt. There still nice and lite too. New carbie kit in the 357 now, run's like a new one

I climb with that saw more often than not.In the pic,it has a 20" bar,it now has a 16" bar.Its actually pretty easy for me to one hand.

I run Husky, Stihl, Dolmar, Shindaiwa, Solo....and Jonsered (Husky in red/black) They all work. Best in class 70-80 cc: Dolmar/Husky/Stihl in that order. Reckon I speaking power and weight here, as the 440 and 460 are great, durable, classic saws---but have to be muffler modded to hold a candle to the others. 50 cc class, Husky 346NE, Dolmar 5100S---and way behind power wise, the venerable 260 Stihl... 60 cc: toss-up between the Stihl 361 and Husky 357.....the 357 is the smoother package. 90 cc Stihl 660 weighs a lot less than the 395, which is smoother and maybe a tad faster. 120cc: both the 880 and 3120 are equally good. I have 2 3120's......wish they came with an adjustable carb. The new ones are rev limited, and have to have a different coil installed to be any good. climb saw 200T, but the 338/2139 Jonsy with a muffler mod will blow away the 200T, last as long, and cost a bundle less. Keep an eye out for some videos of my new 346NEa that is being wood ported for me.....might be a while....I'm expecting it to beat my ported 5100S Dolmar, and know it will beat my old 45 cc 346, also modded.
