Default To break a drought marry 2 trees officially

Well, this is a novel approach at breaking a drought.

Tree marriage performed to appease rain god in Coimbatore

Quote:
Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), June 14 (ANI): Villagers in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu organised a unique marriage of Neem and Banyan trees on Saturday to appease the rain god.

Defending the practice, the villagers said they strongly believed that marriage of Neem and Banyan tree would bring them plenty of rainfall and end their miserable drought-related condition.

The marriage of the two trees was conducted as per traditional Hindu wedding rights and was attended by hundreds of people.

“For 35 years a neem tree and adjacent to it, a banyan tree have been growing. We believe that if we conduct a spiritual marriage of these trees, there will be good shower and welfare in our village. We are very confident we will get a good shower after this marriage,” claimed Kanakaraj, a devotee.

The priest performed the marriage with a large number of devotees offering prayers. A special lunch followed for all devotees.

I guess there have been a lot of tree marriages around here. It's raining hard since dawn, after raining easy all night. When the sun came out yesterday I'd been sure the rain had ended at last.

Glad I worked till dark yesterday, still didn't do enough. Unfortunately, when I picked up my tools in the dark I overlooked my rubber boots which I removed when the day turned dry. Now my boots must be full of water, but I don't want to wade through the tall wet grass to find out!

I tilled up some ground with a cover crop of clover yesterday morning. This morning it looked like hydroponics. The clover may be upside down but it has grown back green and healthy.
