Default Australian Open

If you weren't watching a real good tennis match finals just ended in Sydney.

But next week the Open will be on my big screen, hi def, surround sound with healthy, muscular, young, beautiful women, jumping around and sweating in the sun and making all kinds of animal noises. Does anyone even need to win this thing?

I think the men have some matches as well.

125 degrees F. on the court. Roddick (not a bad name to travel with) and Djokovic....on big screen, surround sound, hi def....right now. Could be a good one...Roddick has lost 15 lbs.

But....might, just as well,....not be....?

They are talking "heat wave of the century" on the programming. 105 F degree daily temps for a week, and 140 degree court temps (?). They are closing the roof.

Hey, at least you guys can make a few bucks out there, we got ice all over everything here.

It's hot alright.

The other day I drank 7 litres of water during the day and never took a leak, try that at home with beer!

Woke up to see the last hour of men's semi. 5 hours 14 mins (longest in AO history). Sounds like an all day take down in the heat only much easier

I don't play much tennis, but like to watch the best at anything. I would watch 2 lugs fight over a parking space if they were real good at it.

AMAZING PIC of heat taking toll on local wildlife - The Geelong Advertiser

Quote:
Three days of temperatures above 40C forced this furry fellow out of his trees in the tiny hamlet of Maude in search of water and some respite from the extreme heat.

The family who found him sheltered under their house were amazed that when they provided the koala with a bucket of fresh water he decided to clamber in and cool down.

Can't you just bring the little fellow in the house and let him live with you? He's awful cute.

Aussy Open Tennis was Ausome.

I stayed up until 5am with my neice here to watch the men's singles finals on Saturday night/Sunday morning. Was a great match between Nadal and Federer. We were rooting for Nadal, and he finally won in the 5th set. Nadal's match before that in the semi-finals was even better with Verdasco. Another 5 set monster matchup.

Lots of good tennis the last 2 weeks. Nothing to watch here at night again. Middle of winter, skiing sucks with a warm spell here this week. May as well post on the net...
