It's from HHGTTG..geez...

They asked this massive supercomputer what the answer was to "life, the universe, and everything" is, and after a few millenia, it finally spit out the answer "42".

"the answer is 42" is a pretty common joke/phrase. I just wasnt sure if anyone would catch on.

I could say "when you see the world through Mercer's eyes, you fill find the toad in the desert"

Which isnt a direct quote, but someone on my other forum picked up on it. You guys prolly wouldnt. It's from "Do androids dream of electric sheep" by Philip K. Dick. The book he wrote just before, and as a precursor to, BladeRunner.
