Default 950 yard awesome shot!

What a cracker of a shot, watch carefully the centre of the screen.

For the humane society, you'd wish they all went down this gracefully!

My guess would be in the vicinity of 7K, depending on optics. I hunted with a guy in 2006 that took a deer at a little further distance than that. He had me verify his range finder number at 992 yards.

His previous occupation made him VERY able to dispatch life at those ranges.

One shot and one kill at 950 yards... MMMMMM reminds me of the days on the range with the accuracy international and the HK PSG-1... I could never kill an animal though. A carton burglar on the other hand is quite fun sometimes... Reminds me of what Carlos hatcock once said... "He, who hunted armed men, does not really care for anything else afterwards...."
The 338 EDGE or 338 Lapua magnum is usefull up to 2000 yards... Gotta have some talent to accomplish such a shot but it can be done.

That *was* a pretty nice shot.

And you're right Q, the 338 Lapua Mag is a great cartridge for that.

A lady who I did a job for last week showed me the final result of a 338 Lapua Mag that she'd been customizing for a while. Has about a $4K scope on it. weighs about 17 pounds. Helluva nice rifle.
Puts her rounds nicely out to 1400 right now. She preffers human sillhouette targets though, lol.

(an no, all the nice ladies I work for don't show me their bitchin rifles... but I bought my motorcycle and a Browning 45-70 from this one, so stuff like that is customary when I'm around her.)

I'll have to ask.

I know she can hit center mass though. The hydrostatic shock of something like that slamming into you would do the trick almost better than the direct bullet trauma too.

(same with deer, I'd imagine)
