Default Wind load analysis for trees / Palm stability

TREE AND PALM STABILITY
There is a brand new publication about tree assessment, in the prestigious Plant Science Bulletin, Journal of the Botanical Society of America.

In this Plant Science Bulletin (Winter 2008 #54-4), under “Wind load analysis for trees” and “The elastic stability of palms”, bibliography can be found that could solve many questions.

These methods are not only backed up by their corresponding scientific (!) and technical publications, but are also completely free for arborists worldwide, so they're not just another top-dollar tree-business...

STUDY, ANALYZE AND COMPARE:
The duty of all arborists who really care for trees/palms and the honesty in our profession.

ARTICLE: attached comes a short version (the complete journal has 8MB and cannot be uploaded here, so for the full one and other issues, head for the link here below)

Therrin, I wrote a critical observation to your question in that thread.
I also know that it looks quite technical at first, which might scare you , but if you're interested in the following subjects, you might really take advantage of the cited information:

Visual assessment of trees and palms (Phoenix sp. and Washingtonia sp.),
Stability, safety and breakage,
Mechanics, mathematics, critical wind speed and risk,
Arboriculture and common sense.

Check the attached list of publications, of which many can be found by search engines and being downloaded for free (I retrieved the list from the internet in Peter Sterken).
Check out also the FREE spreadsheets (wind load analysis for trees) to play with and to combine the output with the critical observations, and its advantages, made in those publications.

Have a nice study-time!

I just found interesting information on the detection of Ganoderma in coconut trees BEFORE visual symptoms appear+treatment!

Scientific, and thus harder to read. Nonetheless, here it is:
www.cazv.cz/userfiles/File/PPS%2042_%2049-57.pdf

Imagine combining this with the here above proposed visual assessment method for palms ("The Elastic Stability of Palms")...

Happy study-time!
