![]() Y'see, cigarette smoking does not cause lung cancer; it might be all that other junk in the air, and bad genes, and astrological influences, and...if I only smoke low-tar ones then I'll bbe right, uh huh!

)by the by, I haven't tried smoking palms....yet! Given that their flesh converts to Nitric Acid upon oxidation I will probably give it a miss.

Hope everyone is gainfully employed, does anyone out there know how to work out the new SRZ formula. I have tried to, but with little luck. The Tree World on line calculator is great but the AS 4970-2009 SRZ GRAPH does not correspond with the online calculator. Could someone explain the formula to me in a simplistic form step by step as I'm far from being a maths genius. Can anyone explain the 0.42 and how this is used in the calculation. This is my final year of the course at Ryde in the Arb Diploma. Have used the Treeworld calculator, however, is the SRZ based on the AS 4970-2009 formula or Matthecks formula? I would appreciate any help. Regards ulp |

The graph is wrong the formula is trying to follow Mattecks graph I think, he does not have a formula. I have a formula posted here that follows his graph perfectly. The 4.2 is to the power of like 3 to the power of 2 is 9 3x3=9 3 to power of 3 is 27. 3 to the power of 4.2 is 100.904 You need to use a scientific calculator to work it or just use the thingy Eric has made here.

Back on topic doesn't anyone here use loops of rope locked around the trunk to climb palms? Slower but safer than spurs and no damage to trees.
