Default Line pull calculator

I believe Chris Girard was behind this project of building an online calculator.

Chuck some numbers at it and see what you think.

I tried it now and it worked, you have to put in the top 5 values and hit the show result button.

Yep it works now, but I tried different values this time. Doesn't work or calculates nothing when theta is 90 degrees though.
The calculation could be implying that the tree would fall over due to it's own weight, and therefore no weight would have to be pulled, but I sereously doubt that because in some cases the crown is far from symmetric or assymetric in the felling direction.

I strongly feel that these calculations aren't correct or near correct.

thats wonderful if you knew exactly where L is...but wait cant determine L till you determine the total weight....but wait what if the tree is hollow.... oh yeah ill just hit it with a something to determine if its solid or not...close enough. tooooooooo many variables to get an accurate assement.besides..."hinged at ground level"...."tree is cut off" why even try to determine something so grotesquely useless. hinge wood is a huge factor in the "resistance" portion of this little mind fart. i guess if you were bored and wanted to sound "smart" to the unthinking itd probably be !@#$...whatever.

Welcome to trees, a lot of educated guesses take place daily however RC1 in his crane videos show how many time a close guess is right on centres ... it's a practice thing.
