It does grow tall, and 99.9% of the time with one straight leader. They do tend to grow fast too! Do not top them. ![]() Not too far from here in the Lamington National Park you'll see them cracking 200' tall. They will shed lower limbs, traditional widow makers. Long lateral low limbs can grow 60' out, as the tree grows higher they shed. I dare say in forestry they'd prune them. As far as burning wood goes, not much chop. Tend to be white in the centre, high water content dries out light and burns fast without a real lot of heat compared to say ironbark, redgum, bloodwood etc.

nice decking boards I've seen from this species, the builder I spoke to using it said it was the nicest timber he had worked with for decking. I'd recommend it. |
