Default What kind of tree is this?

I have been making myself crazy trying to figure this out. I have done leaf identification, fruit identification, seed identification, you name it.

I have selected a few pictures. Sorry some of the pictures of the flower buds(?) are not that good. I tried to make them look sharper but I don't have a good camera for close up shots.

I live near San Antonio, Texas and based on what I tossed there a year or more ago the only thing I can think of is that it might be an avocado tree but so far it looks like no avocado tree I can find a picture of on the web.

I would appreciate any other thoughts for what type of tree this may be so I can search it out.

That has to be it because I found this picture on the web just now when I searched google for white mulberry images:

and that is it exactly. Of course now I have to wonder how it got there...?

I have lived here 10 years + and that tree has only been sprouting up a year or two now. I don't think I planted it...?

Well this one is in my front yard which makes the tree not only secretive but smart because that is where the sun hits most often.

Not only does the sun hit there most often, but apparently the bird poo does as well. I believe that's the most common way for mulberries to spread. I imagine at some point you've probably noticed some lovely purple bird shart on your car windshield as well....

Yes I had thought that but turns out that it grew from one of the seeds collected from my mother-in-law's after she passed away from a car accident. We had given up on the seeds taken from her Mulberry tree doing anything. I didn't know they were Mulberry seeds or it would have dawned on me.

He just came back from a trip though and I told him about finding out what the mystery tree was which made him really happy. He told me that it must have been one of his mother's tree seeds. The rest that he and his brother took had not grown into a tree so he is so thrilled that one did. =)

I am too. *smiles*

Thank you all so much for helping me find out what this tree was and giving us both a wonderful surprise this evening. =)
