Hello everyone, I just purchased a home this past October which has some trees. One tree which i think is a Willow, i could be way off though. Well, I started noticing while all the trees are starting to gets their leaves back this tree only got less then half its leaves back. I think half the tree might be dead. My question is if this tree is beyond saving or do i need to cut it down? I appreciate any help |

Cut it down. If you cut off all the dead bits do you think what is left would be worth keeping? Willows also rot very quickly so it would not stay up long even if you left some of it. Is a shame it would have been a nice shade tree when it had leaves.

When a tree is more than 50% gone, you've lost the fight. Short lived, disease prone, willows shouldn't be sold much less planted in Dallas area. Get a good oak from a local nursery to replace it - stay away from the box stores - that's where the cull trees go to die. |
