Hi all. I have had various climbing harness's in my life. Austrian Duo, Edelrid Tree Magic, Dragon Fly and Petzl. I now need to by a new one, and can not choose. What in your few is the best climbing harness? |

How is the durability and weight of the tree motion? I have heard quite a bit about it.

the tree motion is nice. its so adjustable and the custom options is mind blowing. its like the saddle becomes a part of your body. i got about 2 years of hard climbing out of a tree motion. it is a little less durable then something built like a tank ex. buckingham saddles and the butterfly and dragonfly saddles. id say if you need a light saddle with lots of attachments for gear look at the tree motion but if you want durability to last look into a buckingham deluxe saddle. hope this helps.

Butterfly or buckingham deluxe depends on your climbing style and work type really

Treemotion . Lots of people like and recommend what they use themselves without having tried all the options. I know of lots of people that have really liked and recommended harness X, but once they finally try a treemotion realise they just didn't know what they were missing, you don't know how good good can be till you have tried one. I have tried everything and TM is easily the best i my opinion. I know lots of climbers that have had the TM, tried everything else too, but keep coming back to the TM. I don't know anyone that has moved on from a TM to something else and been happier with it. |

Defo tree motion in my opinion I have tried most of the others and in comparison some of them felt like torture devises especially the willams!!! It has great lumbar support and plenty of room for tools tho i had to replace the rope bridge very quickly with a length of prussek rope as he seemed to show signs of fraying very quickly but that wasn't a costly or time consuming problem. In my opinion the best harness is one that is the most comfortable for the individual and earns money. If you can I would advise borrowing one if you can and see how it feels and make a decision from that! |
