i posted about elms in a few post but i wanted to know if the vally forge american elm will look like your typical vase shaped parent tree? the princtons do not! the problem is i can not find the parent tree it was cloned from on the net.

From what I remember about the valley forge it has a similar history to the princeton. Both are Ulmus americana which at some point were selected because they showed better DED resistance compared to other Elms. The Princeton was actually already in production with nurseries before it was found it had a good DED resistance. Both trees are Ulmus americana and therefore will acquire the traditional elm shape when maturing. I don't have pictures but google valley forge and you will find information about its shape no problem. |
