Trying to identify fungus

Default Trying to identify fungus

Does anyone recognize these fungi? The board with the white fuzz is hickory. The tree is Beech.

If the Beech fungus is Beech Bark Disease, should I cut the tree down to use for lumber, or is there something I can do to kill the fungus?
