| A business aquaintance asked me to come look at one of his elms. Apparently it was pruned with spikes a couple years ago, he didn't know that wasn't propper, so didn't stop the guy. From what he says, the thing has quite a bit of puncture damage from the spurs. I'd like to know if there's some way to treat this, and / or what can be done for the tree on a nutrient level to help it out, if that is possible. He said it's about 32" dia at the base.

| theres not really alot you can do. sometimes if the gaff mark is jagged ill cut off the hanging flesh making it somewhat clean. be careful not to do more damage. then you have to decide if theres a problem{fungus/aphids/ect} after youve exhausted all other options you have to decide if you want to resort to chemical applications to remove the problems. expert suggest :dont cover and dont make bigger. |
