Default Strelitzia Nikolai

We moved to the Blue Mountains three years ago. We have a 3.5 metre Strelitzia Nikolai in our front garden which had a flowering stem when we arrived. It has not flowered since - for the last three seasons. What do these plants need to flower. Everything else in the garden is thriving.

Might be too cold for it.

Here they flower a lot, appears the most neglected still thrive, maybe you are too nice to it.

They grow well around here and the Penrith/Richmond area so I don't think it's too cold but the last two winters have been lousy weather.

Give it a few months, the way it's going this year I think you should have flowers by November.

You could also try adding some bonemeal (phosphorus), potash (potassium) and liquid seaweed (for micro-nutrients) to enhance health of plant and flowering cycle.
