Some kind of Cordyline or Cabbage Tree. Cordyline Australis? I'm don't have too much experience with them. Anyone else able to pin it down to a specific Cordyline?

I would say it's a Ponytail Palm (beaucarnea recurvata) due to the bulbous base of the trunk.

Definately Pony Tail palm.

They get BIG and I think it is too close to the house .... you can move them pretty easily.

I cut down a big one the other day close to a house, out grew it's location. What a mess, worse than a cuban palm inside and wet wet wet to stump grind. I cut the bulb bit off and into 1/4's to Kanga it out .... all up the bloody thing weighed 600kg and was only 8' tall but it had a decent bulb. Trashed a chain on the bloody thing too as the middle was hollow/rotten and full of dirt.

Here you can see it in Google street view, it's the RH side of the house near the window.
