Hi, Can anyone help me to identify a Maple that has appeared in my vegetable garden? It has large green leaves, small purple flowers that become small green seed pods and the trunk is smooth and kind of black in colour.

Thanks Vince

What makes you think it's a maple?
Maples have winged seeds not seed pods.
If you put a photo in you will know what it is in a few hours probably.
