Default Pyrus ussuriensis

I have to do a crown reduction/deadwood/lift on some of these.
They are about 3-400mm dia. encroaching on building infrastructure and just need a bit of work.
Is there anything I should know about.

I should have taken pics. before they had leaves on them.
They are a massive tanlge of branches, havent been touched for a long time and have dead wood/broken branches in them.
I need to lift them as the weight and low branches is making a hazard for cars and pedestrians.
Some of the branches are too long. Should they be taken out completely or cut them by 1/3-1/2?

If the branches are over the roadway and sidewalks - prob better to take them right off, and remove all deadwood. Assuming of course you are allowed to trim these trees, Here in Toronto, such a tree might belong to the city, and that trimming would be their responsibility,. Pics of trees, even without leaves still helps.

I might do as you suggeted and take the lower ones off completely.
If I left 1/2 a branch it may look awful, probably not good for it either.
Then open up the canopy/deadwood.
I will put some pics when I get the job underway.
