|  Problem with Maple Tree
I live in the chicago IL area and noticed my maple tree, that is at least 40 years old has a problem. My neighbor has a tree with the same issue. Are these bugs? Can it be saved? What do I need to do? Thanks for any help!!!! |

Also called "cotton cushion scale." Oil sprays (SunsprayŽ, NeemŽ) best address it and are the most environmentally sound products to use. Systemic insecticides will also work. Scale will attack trees that are stressed. Without first relieving the stress, you can expect to treat these little suckers every year. Can't figure it out? Call local certified arborists and get several opinions.
