Default poincian (Delonix regia) sap

Hi,

I am from Brisbane, Australia. We have a 30+ yr old poinciana tree in my garden that
has been doing really well. But recently I noticed 2-3 branches stared oozing some clear
sticky sap. The sap also seem to attact bees.

Does any one know what is the cause of it and what should we do to stop it.

Sap has a lot of sugars (maple syrup) and bees like sweet things.

Hard to say what the cause is without pictures.

In my experience it's usually a fine lesion caused by fungal infection, very slight crack or blistering of bark..... there must be a crack or something in the bark for the sap to get out. With fungal infection there's usually some darkening around the area.

Could also be a borer hole, but a little bit off on the time of year.

Really need pictures.

I have uploaded some pictures. The pictures show different above and below views of a branch with the sap on it.

I have also include a picture of the whole tree.

This could be what you are observing.. Fungi and tree host interactions

To be perfectly honest there was nothing done at all the result from the infection is superficial blistering to the outer bark cambium, if this is the same thing then I would expect the same results...nothing significant.
