Default Plum, Elm Problem

It started on Elm trees in the alley and spread to a plum in the back yard.

Also, what is this? Grows like a weed!

Thanks!

My neighbor has these things. I've noticed they break very easily in storms. They're incredibly invasive. They're constantly sprouting up all over my yard and they grow fast.
