Default Pine Trees

Hello all. I live in Washington State in a very wooded rural area. I have pine trees all around my house. I have a question about topping a few of them. Ya see, I just got a very large telescope and I have about 5 trees I would like to top so I can see in a specific area of the sky at night. I have a tree that the wind took the top off some years back, and it seems to be doing fine, actually it seems to be more healthy now, with new growth all around it. Also I have seen lots of pine trees topped under power lines that seem very healthy. I love my trees! But I need that part of the sky for viewing. I will never touch the other trees i have, but I would like to sacrifice a few. Any comments, for or against would be appreciated. Thank you, Don.

Use the search button on the blue navigation bar, search topping, hatracking, lopping etc.

Also get some pictures up here so we can see.

They pertain exactly to your situation, taking the tops off trees for views.
