Default Pest on Eucalyptus leucoxylon

Hey guys,

Just got some Euc. leucoxylon nusery stock, looks terrible.

Something has had a go at it, new growth is distorted, older leaves have purple spots and/ or skeletonisation.

Saw a teeny green catterpillar on one leaf. There are also tiny white eggs on the skeletonised leaf.

Any ideas what this is? Do you reckon there is more than one pest at work here?

Chuck em or fiddle around with Confidor or hand pick em off but I'd say the villains hit an run, long gone by now. Trees may recover in time.

So you just bought them etc?

That's bad, they're diseased, some sort of blight I'd say, there'd be a cesspool of bacteria, bugs and fungi .... get rid of them, burn the bastids!

Yeah new stock - disappointing that a) the nursery supplied it and b) someone here accepted it.

As new stock, the nursery should take it back and replace it, if they care about customer service and repeat business. To even allow stock like that out of the nursery -- unless it was a "fire" sale, is shameful.
