Talking Peach advice please

Olá. G'day

The little peach tree that I raised 4-5 inches is in bloom, not much mind but it's only small.
I am worried because most of the new growth is coming out of the area that was previously below ground level, see pictures:
Should I nip this new growth off before it goes too far and will doing this enable more growth over the upper section of the tree?

Thanks for any help...............

Yeah, cut them off.

It looks a little too much out of the ground now but hey, seems to like it.

Talk about girdling roots, mate, what are these nurseries selling?

Gotta agree with Eric - cut them off now.

Pull the soil back from the trunk down a few inches and get those girdling roots off right away. While a tree is still young, they tolerate root pruning better than when they are older.

What!

No after pics, come on, we know you can do it.

Did you cut them girdling roots?

Must have had girdling roots since it was tube stock.

Eric, the weather has not been conducive to photography, monsoon is on us for a few days now but just for you (even the flash is going off this morning it's so dark) here's a few:

Thanks again for the advice and should I be doing the same with me Clementine below ie: removing the lower growth?
