Default palm tree cracked trunk

Hello to all:

I have a healthy 15 year old Coconut Palm which about 15 feet tall. Last year the tree acquired a crack in its trunk which is 2 foot long 1/8 t 1/4 wide and a couple inches deep.

Question - Is there anything that I can use as a filler for this crack or should I do nothing?

Thank you....

I don't have experience with palms, but pics are invaluable. Generally no filler is best.

It's called a striation! as the palm uptakes water/nutrients the palm grows as it does this it expands and the outer layer doesn't stretch so it splits then in time fills itself in, it's like a strtech mark on a tree.
Don't fill it with anything just leave it alone to do its thing.
hope this helps
