Hi Everyone! Have stumbled across this forum and am hoping for some advice regarding a palm in our backyard. We inherited the palm (I suspect it is a cocos but have by no means looked into it thoroughly) from the previous owner's of the house. I suppose it is more than 5m tall (hopeless at estimating) and is a bit of a random addition to a very bare backyard. We are in the process of building a huge playground / swing set for our two littlies right next to the palm and have discovered a hole in the trunk that looks like borer activity. From memory it is a bit smaller than a tennis ball and had some webbing sort of across it. I will go out and take a pic to post in the morning. It is not far off the ground and appears to be the only hole. The tree seems to be otherwise healty. My main concern is if the hole is disrupting the structural integrity of the tree then it is obviously in a very dangerous position being right next to the playground. Any ideas / advice / information? As I said, I'll post a few pics in the morning which may help. Thanks heaps in advance!! Chelle
