I spotted this while at a Butterfly World and Museum, and get the feeling its not a native to the UK. Its leaves are shaped a little like a Lilac(Syrinaga) but theres some texture there. I meant to go back for a closer look but forgot all about it(the museum was really cool!) also when looking at the pic on the PC I noticed what look like some red areas amongst the foliage. Fruit or leaf sheaths? |

Better (close ups) pictures would help although from a distance it does resemble a mulberry. Likely a "red mulberry" - Morus rubra. Check out: Mulberries. |

Thanks. I did include a close up of the leaves, bottom right. Must remember to get a closer look next time, maybe taste a mulberry fruit!

Well we were back there today and I took a close look and even found a fruit. They were pink and unripe,quite sour,but definitely a Mulberry!
