Default Mandarin Tree Fruit (Thininning?)

Hi

Having had several successful pieces of advice and information from members of this site, my mandarin tree has made good progress but appears to have an abundance of small friuit appearing.
I am not complaining about the amount of fruit but wondered if I should thin/remove any of the fruit as some of it appears to be dropping?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Do you know what type of mandarin tree it is?

Fruit thinning is good, just how much I'm not sure, depends on the tree however 50% is a common number.

How big are the falling fruit? Maybe only tiny, less than say 3/4" dia, thin evenly around tree.

Need to make sure tree is healthy too, not over watered or too dry.

Thank you for your reply.

Not sure the exact type of mandarin tree but the fruits that are dropping are indeed small. Not much bigger than match heads.

I will thin out as you say using a 50% ratio.

Used to have a peach tree, we'd thin that and get the largest juiciest peaches ever.

I did read that some mandarins it's common to drop a lot of their fruit then a small percentile stays, however hand thinning was recommended to gain some control over it.

I have now thinned out the fruit to around a 50% basis. I will now monitor the fruit growth to see if it needs any more thinning and if any more fruit drops.

Thank you for your advice its much appreciated.
